Company Background

Courtney & Nye Inc. is a stable manufacturer’s representative firm with deep roots in Northwest industry. Courtney & Nye Inc. has a professional staff of experienced sales engineers that cover the entire states of Washington and Oregon, and parts of Idaho, Montana and Northern California.

The company’s main office, in the Portland, OR suburb of Hillsboro and includes a warehouse with heat exchangers, pumps and parts in inventory. There are additional offices in Seattle, Vancouver, and Eugene.

The company was started in 1969 by Jack Courtney, BS(ME), University of Washington, after working for Worthington Corp. He represented many of the companies still covered by Courtney & Nye Inc. today. Larry Nye BS(ME), University of Idaho, joined the company in 1978 after working in engineering, maintenance and supervision for Boise Cascade. Larry purchased Courtney & Nye Inc. in 1988
In May 2001 Wendell LaMotte, Don Wold and Kelly Elstrott purchased Courtney & Nye Inc from Larry Nye.

Owners

Wendell LaMotte, BS(ME), Oregon Institute of Technology, joined company following graduation in 1989. Wendell has a strong knowledge of all the products. Wendell is the managing partner of Courtney & Nye Inc. and works from the Portland Office. He covers the Industrial Plants, Paper mills along the Columbia River, and OEMS in Portland and the Tri-Cities area of Washington State

Don Wold, BS(ME), University of California-Davis, worked previously for Ingersoll Rand (Pump and Condenser Division) and Ecolaire Corp. Don and has a strong background in power industry. He works as an outside sales engineer from the Portland Office and covers select accounts in Seattle area, Columbia Gorge, Portland, Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho.

Kelly Elstrott, BS(Chem E) Louisiana State University, worked with E.L.I., Inc,. as a sales engineer in Louisiana for 25 years handling rotating and heat transfer equipment before joining Courtney & Nye Inc. in May 2001. Kelly operates as an outside sales engineer from the Eugene, OR office and covers central Oregon and Northern California for select accounts. In addition he assists with the refineries in the Ferndale WA area.

Personnel

Neil Simons, BS (Chem E) Montana State. Worked for Georgia Pacific Chemical Division as a sales engineer in the Northwest for ten years before joining Courtney & Nye in 2006. Neil covers industrial, OEM, paper and refinery accounts in the Seattle area

Eric Costner, BS (Engr & Industrial Tech), Worked for A.W. Chesterton & John Crane Mechanical Seals and AstenJohnson Paper Equipment Mil before joining Courtney & Nye in 2008, Eric covers industrial, OEM, and paper mill accounts in the Vancouver, WA, Tacoma, and Eastern WA.

Jason Elstrott, BS (Graphic Design) Louisiana State University. Inside Sales, OEM Products and Parts Desk. Worked in real estate sales before joining Courtney & Nye in 2008. He works in the Hillsboro Office.

Sharon Giroux is the Secretary and Heidi Lamotte is the Bookkeeper.
